A common assessment schedule includes beginning-of-year, middle-of-year, and end-of-year assessments. Educators may also administer additional assessments when progress data shows that a new placement or instructional decision is needed.

Some activities measure fluency and therefore include time-based indicators. Other activities are untimed so the system can evaluate comprehension, reasoning, writing, or mastery without making speed the primary measure.

Yes. A learner may receive instruction above or below the enrolled school grade based on demonstrated mastery. Reports can show both the learner’s enrolled grade and the current performance level in each subject.
